Problem: Windows 7 langsam - Altersschwäche oder Softwareprobleme?



Liebe Mitglieder des Forums,

seit geraumer Zeit ist mein Rechner sehr langsam. Bis das System hochgefahren ist und ich zB Firefox gestartet habe, vergehen viele Minuten.

Da der Rechner schon viele Jahre auf dem Buckel hat, stellt sich mir die Frage, ob das nach so langer Zeit normal ist oder ob irgendwelche Softwareschwierigkeiten Ursache sein könnten.

Mittlerweile ist es auch so, dass die Leistung deutlich in die Knie geht, wenn ich einen Videocall mit Bildschirmteilung abhalte.

In dem Gerät steckt noch eine HDD, eine Magnetplatte. Absolut veraltete Technik, schnarchlangsam.

Und dazu Windows 7, sicherheitstechnischer Sondermüll.

Hier gibt es nur eine Vorgehensweise:

- Festplatte durch eine SSD ersetzen
- Windows 10 oder 11 installieren, aber nicht mehr Windows 7.

Ist nicht so schwer wie du denkst, brauchst halt auch für die SSD einen Adapterrahmen in dem die SSD rein verbaut wird und dann kommt der Adapterrahmen mit der SSD ins Desktop Gehäuse und wird da verschraubt und die SSD angeschlossen.

Adapterrahmen muss nicht unbedingt. Es gibt SSD im 2,5 Zoll Format. Die sehen von außen wie eine HDD aus. Einfach nur umstecken und fertig. Booten mit einem Win 10 auf einem Rufus oder Ventoy-Stick. Installieren und fertig. Ich hab schon viele alte Gurken reanimiert....

Du weißt aber schon, das HDD's in Desktop PC's überlicherweise nicht 2,5 Zoll sondern 3,5 Zoll haben oder? Und die meisten Desktop PC Gehäuse haben keinen Steckplatz bzw Vorrichtung für 2,5 Zoll Festplatten. Auf jeden Fall ist eine SSD in einem Adapterrahmen fester in einem Desktop PC Gehäuse verbaut als ohne Adapterrahmen behaupte ich. Und Windows 7 hätte schon lange nicht mehr online betrieben werden dürfen. Ging sogar durch Mainstream-Medien. Aber wenn man diese Hinweise geflissentlich jahrelang ignoriert, ist das natürlich ein Problem.

Mit Mate ist das dann schlank genug auch für die ältere Hardware. Und jetzt bitte nicht anfangen zu lamentieren, dass ein Linux ja so schlimm sei. Nein. Damit kommen sogar 80-jährige ältere Damen zurecht, die das mal in der Vergangenheit auf ihren PCs/Laptops installiert bekommen haben.

Das auch wirklich machen und umsetzen, und nicht in einem Jahr wiederkommen, und das Problem ist immer noch das gleiche, wie zuletzt hier öfter auch in anderen Threads zu sehen. Ist ja sogar bei Dir übrigens auch nicht anders. Schon 2013 hattest Du die Hinweise bekommen, dass System und Software stets aktuell zu halten sind:

Vielen Dank für eure Diskussion und Anregungen!

Ich habe mich auf euer Anraten im Freundeskreis nochmal genauer umgehört und es gibt jemanden, der findig ist. Mit ihm habe ich besprochen, dass ein neues Notebook (die Anforderungen meinerseits sind nicht hoch) die bessere Variante als die Lebensdauerstreckung.

Bitte aber im Sinne von "die Anforderungen meinerseits sind nicht hoch" kein neues Gerät z.B. mit Celeron-CPU, mit 4 GB RAM, nur 128 GB SSD oder gar mit HDD kaufen! Sonst wird das von vornherein gleich wieder ein Fehlkauf, der langfristig nicht vernünftig nutzbar ist.

nein, das ist selbst mir bewusst, dass die Rahmendaten etwas anders sein sollten.

Ich hatte an mind. i5 bzw. AMD-Äquivalent, 8 DDR-RAM und 512 GB SSD gedacht. Der Markt an möglichen Modellen ist allerdings riesig und ich sichte gerade.
