Wie installiere ich Programme (Mozilla 1.7) richtig?

Jo, das mache ich ja auch, deshalb geht 1.7.2 wahrscheinlich auch nicht.
es gibt da ein paar Mirrors nur für Clubmitglieder, das nennt sich better mirror list.
Esslingen ist z.B. auch dabei, die mozilla 1.7.0 mdk kommt von www.mandrakeclub.com/.

Well, to put it in another words we would like to change the structure. This will, hopefully, be limited to cooker, and only affect next distros, and specifically the 10.1. The two points we would like to address are the location of the packages media in the file tree, and the size of each media.


The current structure is

One first step would be:

This will address the first problem and put all the packages media at the same level.
The next problem would be to create new media. 'main' and 'contrib' are now huge, more than 3 GB each, more than 3000 packages for main and nearly 5000 for contrib. We may want to have something more like:
base/
main/
contrib/
devel/
jpackage/
testing/
club/
'base' would be what we consider needed for a basic mandrakelinux distro, this could include KDE and OpenOffice, but try to address 80% of the need with maybe something like 1000 packages. Note that 'base' is maybe not well choosen as there is already a Mandrake/base directory with hdlists and pubkeys.
'main' would just be all the stable packages but which are not widely used.
'contrib' would be anything addressing very specific needs.
'devel' could contains all the package in a development form, e.g. the development branches of projects like the kernel, gimp...
'testing' may be used for debugging purpose, have some packages compiled with specific options...
