Ich hoffe Mozilla und Mozilla Firebird und Thunderbird werden nicht eingestellt. Die sind nämlich einfach nur klasse.

Netscape ist leider seit ner ganzen Weile Schrott, insofern könnte man mit den Schultern zucken. Dummerweise wird aber auch mozilla (und seine Clones) betroffen sein, so dass der IE weiteren Auftrieb bekommen dürfte *grrrrrr*

das der mozilla 1.4 nur die letzte "komplett-lösung"
sein soll und dann das ganze in browser, mail-proggie,
etc. aufgeteilt, aber trotzdem weiter entwickelt
werden soll?

naja, wenn's so weitergeht mit der "globalisierung",
gibt's bald eh' nur noch mercedes, nestle und
microsoft.

Also geplant war das die Mozilla Suite 1.4 die letzte ihrer Art sein sollte. Danach sollten die Teile Browser und Mail getrennt entwickelt werden.
Also Mozilla Firebird als Browser und Mozilla Thunderbird als Mailclient. Im moment sieht es aber so aus, als wenn es noch einmal ein komplett Suite geben wird. 1.5 Alpha ist im moment in der Entwicklung, da der Firebird noch nicht die nötige "Reife" hat/hatte. So habe ich das auf einer der Seiten gelesen.

Heise: Aol dementiert Einstellung von Netscape

Nach AOL wurden nur 10 % der Mitarbeiter des Netscapeprojektes entlassen.
Para, der mit Netscape 7.1 recht zufrieden ist....
